Education Myth in Pakistan

Education has always been the most elegant, sensitive and prickly issue across different levels especially in Pakistan. Literacy rate was that, now is this and will rise to apex as per projection, this is what all the policy makers ornate.

The result we all know always is nix and still the claims have always been asserted to stunning success. Illusion probably could be the very best example to this massive distortion of facts. The avowed slope is going upwards while we as a whole are more and more violent, uncouth, cacophony and lastly depressed.

Funds Allocation Is Not The Answer
Allocating increased funds, making administrative changes and creating awareness of the importance of education could not produce even a small proportion of the people which may be presented as role models.

Till now, the education dawns with English and dusks at English to produce mostly with politicians, teachers, managers, bureaucrats etc. Also the trend has been observed that everyone wishes to manage or administrate the settled set-ups hence business administration, commerce and banking etc. disciplines are much loved by Pakistani youth.

Economic Growth Through Business Managers and Import Reliance
I don’t understand how can a country progress just by administration that too has gone astray in all aspects especially in government sector and if it is working in private sector, most of the percentage there is too relevant to import of various goods from other countries.

Agriculture and textile sectors are the backbone of Pakistan economy and the labor engaged in these sectors are largely uneducated so if they decide to migrate to the urban areas for their children to “educate to administrate the country” rather “educate to yield the sector”, where the Pakistan would end up with?

Thanks to Allah Almighty still there are people who actually contribute to the national economy production and exports of agriculture products, by-products and textile sector etc. Sadly, their cries have never been effectively heard by the power intoxicated sitting in the parliament and public offices.

However amazingly, these prime contributors to Pakistan economy belonging to lower class living near or below the poverty line remain at the mercy of business managers, bureaucrats and feudalists trained in domestic and international universities who wring them to capitalize high profits, cut production costs and paying low wages. Everyone yearns to remain white color and rule and criticize the actual helping hands of the economy.

Level Playing Field
Coming to the children, though these days, the kids’ attitude, personality development, grooming and teachers’ behavior are the focal points but the outcome despite all these nourishments is nothing and also such superlative facilities are generally catered to elite class institutions what others could just dream of.

The children are plants so we have to provide prerequisite equal opportunities environment to them all irrespective of what kind of fruit they would bear in future. The raw material until processes in the factory could never be assessed and who knows that a kid begging or serving could have been a Dr. Abdul Qadir Khan.

We need hundreds of thousands of such competent and quality individuals to reverse the fate of Pakistan though unfortunately we are highly lacking the examples for our children to follow and the today’s Pakistan is saturated with politicians and bureaucrats vows to take Pakistan to peak just by gossips.

Understandably, may be some of the nuts and bolts may not be provided to lesser class but no less than syllabus could be devised of the same nature letting all the students to own the same playing field. A step further and ponder to finalize your primary language as medium since currently so many mediums are in operation that a kid is just confused why I am being hassled to learn ‘AAM’ in Urdu and then ‘MANGO’ to same item.

The state of affairs even worsens when more linguistics like Punjabi, Sindi, Balochi, Pushto, Farsi etc are put there in syllabus. In fact, our kids are bound to be groomed in multiple languages not in knowledge, ethics or personality.

So a kid from Punjabi background and hearing native language from the lap of the mother has to adapt to Arabic, Urdu and English in one turn and in the process of this complexities, sizeable ratio turns confused and embraces rebellion approach.

What Literacy Means To The World
The bottom line is that literacy the world defines as knowledgeable, cultured and mannered here in Pakistan dwindles to just and just English. Whereas French, English, Dutch, Chinese, Polish etc. children are liberated from such irritant obscurities hence swim neatly and reach the skies.

Economic Circumstances
In conclusion, it is irrelevant that how much of GDP we spend to education sector, unless and until primary issues that includes quantitative and qualitative dimension are resolved, the product would remain worthless.

It is also imperative to mention that providing books free of cost or giving stipend for sending their children to schools skews foolish. We are trying to bribe the poor parents to earn for sending children to schools so whenever the monetary interests are perished; the children would evaporate from the schools too.

Parents with limited income have to first feed the children and after their household expenditure, they are left blank to invest on the education of their kids. And the country which is scrolling down in all aspects, how long could motivate the parents to send kids to schools and earn a little too.

Had the resources of the country been better mobilized and the impact been trickled down to low income levels, that would have automatically energized the parents to develop the skills of their children. That’s the sure, empty pocket prompts money not books and only the money earned activates education, health and luxuries.

Pakistan, Better Remain Uneducated
If we are to produce the kind of education class we are producing now, Pakistan should better remain uneducated as in this case, we would ultimately be supplying Pakistan the generation of money seekers, resource grabbers and self-interested people. So STOP funding education sector and keep building roads instead of characters!
